unlit match?
i have come to believe that some adult children of alcoholics don’t become alcoholics because of the combination of nature and nuture they experienced, which can be different from that of their siblings; but, occasionally, I wonder is it rather the truth that all adult children of alcoholics carry inside them an unlit match?

i’m equally as alive in the face dullness as in the face of chaos; chaos adds nothing to the equation, but i used to think it did.
criticism
criticism is someone else’s opinion, not a description of you. someone’s criticism reveals more about that person than much about you.
the truth is...i needed a night to myself
“….lie when it would be just as easy to tell the truth.” i am becoming someone comfortable telling the truth (i forgot your name, birthday, to run that errand-just plain forgot) and comfortable with the potential embarrassment that comes with it. plus, i trust others enough to know they can take the truth.

learning disabilities
is it the brain or the emotions that make us more likely to misspell and have a hard time thinking straight and remembering things, did our brains form one way and not another because we inside our kid brains and hearts were in survival mode, not encyclopedia-factoid-memorizing the Presidents of the United States mode?
